Secret River Crossings

You may have heard about this, but if you haven’t, for quite some time now the developers have received complaint after complaint about “glitched” tiles that let you cross rivers WITHOUT the use of a crossing. I even stumbled across one early in my campaigning and admittedly, used it to my advantage. But up until now, the developers have never acknowledged it. Not a single word in response to this issue. At least, to my knowledge. But I’m pretty sure they just sent us a message. 

Do you see these territories that they created for the new season 6 Rings of Power Campaign?

During routine recon missions, I came across these two particular areas. They hold within them, resources, Neutral Camps, and even a Scout Tower(which is required to have to control the region). Strangely though, they are completely surrounded by rivers with no crossings. 

Are you thinking what I’m thinking? Cause what I’m thinking is “Wait a minute… There is absolutely no way they would spend all that time creating a place we were never supposed to get to.” I don’t know if you guys know this, but developing a game with the caliber of visual graphics one has, takes a staggering amount of time. This game has been in the making for YEARS before it was even in the beta process. So once you have an idea of just how long these areas took to render, you’ll know without a doubt that they did it on purpose, they probably did it with smirks on their faces, and they must feel relieved that we’ll finally stop bugging them to “fix glitched tiles” and start complaining about something else, that’s hopefully, actually broken. 😂

Immediately I started tapping on every tile that could possibly lead me down a secret pathway… And wouldn’t you know it…

I found it.

Just as in real life, there are parts of a river low and slow enough for an army to make it across safely. During war, land positioning plays a HUGE part in whether you come out the victor, or the defeated. And in some instances, knowing about a secret pathway into enemy territory can give your faction a COLOSSAL tactical advantage. Rather than going back and forth battling for days on a crossing suffering enormous troop loss, you could just walk right in. Or, you could say, sneak past some unwitting guards in the middle of the night? Or, you could, I don’t know, turn the tide of a battle by flanking the enemy’s blindside!? They’d never see it coming! 

My first attempt into this protected land went awry when a command of Corsairs hiding in the trenches popped up at the last second as I approached in stealth mode in the middle of the night.

But I eventually made it across, of course, remembering to cover my tracks and getting rid of all evidence of my entry point…

And now, I am a proud owner of private, beachfront property, absolutely tax-free... In the middle of a desert…

Ha, I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it. Because this next part contains a little bit of bad news. Apologies in advance. 

Originally I did a ton of recon to find every single one of these secret pathways, and I found quite a bit. They’re spread out all over the map… But in the end, I decided to leave some mystery & adventure and let you find them yourselves. This was a tremendously hard decision for me, considering how all-encompassing my vision is for UNGOLIANT TOWER, a community Discord server for ‘Rise to War’, in case you hadn’t seen its sheer awesomeness yet. XD I’m still compiling the data though, and maybe in a couple more seasons or whenever most of the locations become mainstream common knowledge, I’ll share the complete map... …I may have misplaced a key feature note somewhere. Which miiight hint at something that would make it easier to find these invisible pathways… Possibly.
