Rise to Power: Mastering the Early Game in LOTR: Rise to War 2.0

By Empress Jhazala

Welcome, commanders! Are you ready to claim your place in Middle-earth and forge a powerful faction in The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War? This guide will equip you with the knowledge you need to dominate the early game, gather resources, build your forces, and lay the foundation for ultimate victory.

Choosing Your Commanders

In the early game, focus on building a core team of four Commanders with defensive abilities, damage mitigation skills, and healing capabilities. This will help minimize troop loss during battles and skirmishes. Once you secure a level 200 tile or higher, you can leverage the 'Mind Sharpening' Ring to accelerate your endgame Commanders' leveling process.

Recruiting Troops

At first, aim to recruit sufficient troops to reach the maximum command limits for your Commanders. Focus on enlisting the highest-tier, defensively strong, and cost-effective troops.

Stick to training just a few troop types. This will help you conserve resources and avoid resource shortages when you need them most. Focus on building a strong, consistent army instead of spreading yourself thin across multiple unit types.

Optimizing Stamina and Tasks

To maximize Commander efficiency, use the leapfrogging technique. Deploy one Commander until their stamina runs out, then switch to another. This ensures you're constantly progressing while Commanders recover stamina.

Focus on High-Value Tasks. Prioritize completing tasks on your list that offer the most significant rewards. Don't waste time and resources on low-level targets that won't significantly advance your early game progress.

Tile Strategy & Troop Conservation

Prioritize low-level tiles until reaching your territory limit. Aim for tiles rated as 'Effortless' to maximize efficiency.

Once your troop losses stay below 15% on your current level, consider advancing to higher-level tiles.

Conscription vs Construction: Remember Your ABCs

ABC stands for ‘Always-Be-Conscripting’. Ensure your barracks are constantly producing troops and avoid resource drain from excessive building upgrades. Troops always take priority.

Mastering Mob Sweeping

Engaging with Mobs yields precious resources, experience, and speed-ups. However, strategic selection of the Mobs you engage with is crucial for optimizing your gains.

Ring Point Allocation Strategy

In the early game of Ring point allocation, your choices are limited, but one ability reigns supreme throughout the season: 'Dominance'. Increasing your land holdings grants more power, resources, and accelerates your progress.

Once 'Dominance' is maximized, prioritize unlocking 'Time out of Time' to streamline early game tasks.

Next, focus on 'Invigoration' to boost your Commanders' Stamina, allowing you to utilize your best ones more frequently.

Finally, choose between 'Abundant Might' or 'Abundant Wisdom' to enhance either Attack or Focus stats of your Commanders based on their strengths.

Training Camp Strategy

Boosting your Training Camp provides your Commanders with 2-3 additional commands' worth of troops. However, it's essential to balance this with Main Hall upgrades to swiftly unlock T3 and T4 units. It's a delicate balance, so proceed cautiously. Having an extra Construction Queue would come in handy here (hint hint).

With this knowledge in your arsenal, you're well-equipped to conquer the early game in LOTR: Rise to War. Remember, mastery of resources, troops, and Commanders is the key to forging a dominant force in Middle-earth.
